Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by the operator of @6700days to explain how the site handles your data. Last updated: July 2026.

Who runs this site

6700days is a personal project by the creator of the Instagram account @6700days. For any privacy question or a request to delete your data, use the contact form. You can also DM @6700days on Instagram as an alternative.

What we collect

  • Email address — used to create your account, verify you with a 6-digit code, send transactional emails, and let you sign back in.
  • Instagram username — stored with your reservation so your Claimed Comment can be matched to your account.
  • Comment text — the sentence you submit as your Claimed Comment. It's manually reviewed before being screenshotted for the video.
  • Login codes — instead of a password, we use one-time 6-digit codes sent to your email both to verify your address and to sign you back in later. These codes are short-lived and are not stored after use or expiry.
  • Basic technical logs — standard request logs (IP, timestamp, error traces) needed to keep the site running.
  • Age confirmation — a timestamp recording that you confirmed you are 16 or older to participate in the "Guess the Number" game.
  • Leaderboard consent — a timestamp recording that you agreed to have your Instagram username shown publicly on the game leaderboard if you achieve a qualifying score.
  • Game activity — your guesses, number of attempts, and scores for the "Guess the Number" game, used to calculate your leaderboard ranking.

We do not receive or store your card number, CVC, or billing address. All payment details are entered directly on Stripe's checkout and handled by Stripe.

Who processes your data (sub-processors)

  • Supabase — hosts our database and handles account authentication (email, login codes, reservations).
  • Stripe — processes all payments. Stripe receives the amount, your email, and the day number as metadata so we can reconcile the payment with your reservation. Your card details are handled entirely by Stripe under their own privacy policy.
  • Resend — sends transactional emails (verification codes, receipts, approval notifications).
  • Lovable / Cloudflare — hosts the website and serves it to your browser.

Some of these sub-processors may process or store data outside the European Union. We rely on their own compliance frameworks and standard safeguards (such as Stripe's, Supabase's, Resend's, and Cloudflare's published security and privacy commitments) to protect your data.

How we use your data

  • To verify your email and create your account.
  • To match a paid reservation to a specific countdown day and Instagram handle.
  • To review your comment before it is featured in the daily video.
  • To send you transactional emails about your reservation (verification, approval, rejection).
  • To operate the "Guess the Number" game and calculate weekly and all-time leaderboard rankings.
  • To determine and notify weekly game winners, and to issue and validate their free-day redeem code.

We don't sell your data, we don't run ad tracking, and we don't share your data with anyone outside the sub-processors listed above.

Data retention

Reservation records (email, Instagram handle, comment, payment ID) are kept for as long as the reservation is part of the public countdown — meaning: potentially indefinitely, because a Claimed Comment is meant to remain permanently attached to its countdown day as part of the public archive.

Email verification codes are deleted automatically after use or expiry. Server logs are kept only for a short operational window. Game activity (guesses, scores, leaderboard standing) is kept indefinitely for leaderboard and Hall of Fame history, unless you request deletion.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Ask what data we have about you.
  • Ask us to correct your Instagram handle or email.
  • Ask us to delete your account, reservation, and game/leaderboard data. If your comment has already been included as a Claimed Comment in a public video, the video itself is not something we can retroactively edit, but we will remove your row from our database on request.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, if you believe your data is not being handled properly.

To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form. You can also DM @6700days on Instagram as an alternative.

Cookies

We use only strictly-necessary storage: a session token so you stay signed in. We don't use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

Refunds

Refunds are handled manually on a case-by-case basis. See the Terms of Service for details.
